Users Guide
"Welcome to TMTT's TradeSeeker!"

To enter the TradeSeeker program, double click on the TradeSeeker icon on your desktop or start the program from your pull down menu on the Start bar. A login box will appear on your screen and you will be asked to enter your user name, password and the internet address of our TradeSeeker server. Note that the internet address will already have the proper default address of ( ). If you do not have a user name and password and would like to subscribe to this Teach Me To Trade service, you may do so at the following link: TradeSeeker Order Form. To download the TradeSeeker program, click here.

Once you are successfully logged into the system, the TradeSeeker alert bar will appear at the top of your screen. This alert bar will be the location where TradeSeeker will flash strategy alerts for your information. In addition, the alert bar is the starting point for modifying and customizing your TradeSeeker package to meet your specific needs and requirements.

Getting Started

The key to navigating the TradeSeeker program is to Right-Click on the TradeSeeker alert bar. This will allow you to customize your TradeSeeker program to better match your particular needs as well as use the linking and help features of TradeSeeker.

Listed below is a step-by-step guide on how to customize your TradeSeeker program. To begin, simply right-click on the alert bar and select "Preferences" from the pulldown menu.

We recommend you print out this Users Guide as a handy reference as you customize you TradeSeeker program.

General Tab

The first tab on the Preferences window is called the “General” tab.

1.Right click on the alert bar.
2.Go to the “Preferences” choice on the pull-down menu to review your system configurations.
3.Select the “General” tab.
4.Alert Bar Position. You can choose on which edge of your computer screen to locate the TradeSeeker alert bar (top, bottom, left, right).
5.Sort Alerts. You can configure how the alert bar sorts the acknowledged alerts. The alerts can be sorted by "Time", "Group" or "Score". Most traders prefer to sort by "Time" first followed by "Score".
6.Number of Alerts on Bar. Choose the number of stock alert buttons to be seen at a time. Typically, 10 alerts per monitor is a good number, depending on the resolution you use. Once you have a bar full of alerts, use trial and error here to find the best number of alerts per page for your computer screen resolution.
7.Background Color or Texture. You can experiment with either using a “Color” or “Texture” for your alert bar background. The default background uses the "Color," gray for the alert bar.

Click Tab

You can customize TradeSeeker to automatically complete certain actions when an alert is 'clicked' upon on the alert bar. In addition, you can customize actions for the "Shift-Click," "Alt-Click" and "Ctrl-Click" options.

1.Right click on the alert bar.
2.Go to the “Preferences” choice on the pull-down menu to review your system configurations.
3.Select the “Click” tab.
4.Double click on the “Click”, "Shift-Click," “Ctrl-Click” and “Alt-Click” lines to see your choices for these settings.
5.You may configure your various click settings to do any of the following:
a. Silence the Alert
b. Acknowledge the Alert. The unacknowledged alarms are always kept in the upper left hand window (assuming the alert bar is at the top of the monitor). When you acknowledge an alert, the alert is sorted on the other side of the alert bar.
c. Link to Real Tick III. This links the alert stock to a Real Tick III Level II or chart display of your choice. Most people will link to a specific Level II display, and then let Real Tick III further link to the desired charts of interest.
d. Speak Alert. Most people either really like, or really hate having the alerts spoken. You’ll have to make your own determination on this.
e. Show Alert Details. This gives a bit more information on why the alert was generated.
f. Get News. This will link your stock to the news portion of the Teach Me To Trade website.
g. Remove Alert. This will delete the alert from the alert bar, never to be seen again. It is a good idea to keep your alert bar ‘clean’ by eliminating the alerts that do not interest you. Note, however, that the alert bar will hold an unlimited number of alerts. Once the first page is filled, the alerts will page over to subsequent pages. Press the triangular pointers on the ends of the alert bar to navigate to the next or prior page.

6.Most traders prefer using the "Click" feature to silence the alert, acknowledge the alert and link to their Real Tick III program (if applicable).
7.You can configure the "Shift Click", "Control Click" and "Alt Click" to perform other tasks.

Character Tab

Using the "Character" tab under the "Preferences" window, you can choose any of the following characters to speak your alerts and messages.

1.Right click on the alert bar.
2.Go to the “Preferences” choice on the pull-down menu to review your system configurations.
3.Select the “Character” tab.
4.Select Character. Select the character to speak your alerts.
5.You can also select "Don't use character" if you do not want to use this feature.
6.Size of Character. You can adjust the height and width of the character.
7.Note: If you wish to eliminate the character at any time, simply double click on him and he will go away. Also, you can reposition the character's location on your screen at any time by 'dragging' him to a new location.

Strategies Tab

The "Strategies" tab of the "Preferences" window is the most important section to customize on your TradeSeeker program.

1.Right click on the alert bar.
2.Go to the “Preferences” choice on the pull-down menu to review your system configurations.
3.Select the “Strategies” tab.
4.Double click on the Strategy category to see the individual alerting strategies within that category. A description of each strategy can be found at this link: TradeSeeker Strategies.
5.Double click on the individual alerting strategy to narrow your alerts as desired by exchange (e.g. NYSE, Nasdaq)
6.Check or uncheck the boxes to determine which strategies/exchanges you want to receive alerts from.
7.The strategies available to you are determined based on your TradeSeeker subscription level. All subscription levels include the "Basic" strategies. You may upgrade or modify your subscription level at the following link: TradeSeeker Order Form.
8.The individual strategies can be grouped in any way based on the users preference using the Group slider at the bottom of the window. Each item in a specific group will display their alerts using the same colored text and will generate the same sounds when triggered for easy recognition of the type of alert.
9.In addition, you can filter your alerts such that only alerts meeting a user-configurable minimum score will be sent to you. This is done with the second slider at the bottom of the window.

Sounds Tab

The “Sounds” tab is used to customize how sounds are used in the TradeSeeker program.

1.Right click on the alert bar.
2.Go to the “Preferences” choice on the pull-down menu to review your system configurations.
3.Select the “Sounds” tab.
4.Mute. Choose to mute all alert sounds from being generated
5.System Beep. Choose to use the system beep sound to notify you of an alert. This is recommended for those not using a computer with a sound card and speakers.
6.Auto-Silence. Choose how long the sound will play before being auto-silenced (1 to 7 seconds). This is adjusted with the slider bar.
7.Customize Group Sound. If you do not have sounds muted, and are not using the system beep, you will be able to choose which sound you hear for alerts of each “Group.” Any wave file on your computer can be used, although we have configured 11 different sounds as defaults.

Link Tab

The “Link” tab is used to link your TradeSeeker alerts into the Real Tick III (RT3) trading platform (if applicable).

1.Right click on the alert bar.
2.Go to the “Preferences” choice on the pull-down menu to review your system configurations.
3.Select the “Link” tab.
4.Click on the box shown.
5.Click on the RT3 window (market maker or chart) you wish to link your alert to.
6.Once your link is configured, you can right-click on an alert and select "Link to RT3" from the pull-down menu to activate the link for this alert. In addition you can configure the "Click" feature to do this automatically upon clicking on an alert.

Filters Tab

The “Filters” tab is used to filter the alert of your TradeSeeker program based on stock price, stock average daily volume and alert score.

1.Right click on the alert bar.
2.Go to the “Preferences” choice on the pull-down menu to review your system configurations.
3.Select the “Filters” tab.

5.Daily Volume. You can also select a minimum and maximum average daily volume range to narrow the list of stocks that can generate alerts for you.
6.Scoring Filters. By adjusting the slider bar at the bottom of the window you can filter alert by minimum acceptable score.
